A celebration of skateboarding and skate culture: take part in beginner coaching sessions or build skateable sculptures, design custom graphics for your deck and make your own zines. We’ll be showing inspiring skate films from American pros to DIY Scottish crews, meeting skaters that have crossed over into art and music, and testing our skills at a skate jam session.

DIY or die! Learn some construction skills and build your own weird and creative skate obstacles – we’ll re-think what ramps and rails can look like and what tricks they can inspire, then make some stickers for our skate crew.

Artist, musician and skateboarder Jamie Bolland will lead us on a zine-making workshop, exploring the 90s golden-era through to today. We’ll use experimental collage, writing and drawing techniques to make a collaborative publication.

Jamie will present his exhibition, ‘Paris Sydrome’ in the mezzanine gallery and talk about how skateboarding has influenced his art and performance work, exploring mis-use of materials, how culture develops outside of rules and conventions and the subverting of traditions.

For all up and coming shredders! – get tips and advice on how to improve your skating and gain the confidence to make your first drop-in on the quarter pipe. All experience levels welcome, from total beginners onwards. You will need to provide your own board and safety equipment is strongly advised.

An open session to try out new tricks, skate some lines with your pals and hang out with some DJs playing tunes at the skatepark. There’ll be prizes for the best trick and a collaborative mural to get involved in.
