Forty works by forty artists over four decades of An Lanntair

Visit James Lumsden’s Bayble studio – a chance to see new work in progress, and discover the process and the development of his work. 

To mark the 40 / 40 exhibition, visual artists Dalziel + Scullion will host a studio visit at their studio in Mangersta in Uig over on the west coast.

Join artist Kenneth Burns for this drawing and painting workshop, taking Stornoway Harbour as inspiration.  In the morning, the group will be out sketching en plen air.  The afternoon will be spent in An Lanntair’s art room, working up paintings. 

In this workshop, Ian will speak about the process involved in the development of this artwork, and invite the group to build poetry or prose from objects, memories and remembered conversations. Bring with you an object or photograph, or a resonant phrase from a remembered conversation, which has significance in your life.

Visit Artist and Ceramicist Sue Blair at her studio Borgh Pottery in Fivepenny, Borgh. Sue will talk to the group about her creative background and current work, and give insights into her practices. Enjoy a browse in the pottery and established garden.
