What's On: Learn & Create

Explore the rich and diverse world of rhythm across musical genres and cultures. This interactive class will take you on a journey through music from around the world, discovering how different communities use rhythm to express identity, tradition, and creativity.

This engaging music history class introduces children to some of the world’s most famous classical composers. Each week, students will discover the life story, personality, and musical achievements of a different composer, exploring how their experiences influenced the music they wrote.

This session is for children age 2 – 5 and their parent or carer to be creative together. 

Looking for a creative hangout? Join us at Pointers Youth Centre for the new Art Cafe for age 14 – 18 year olds. Each month there will be a group participatory art project to dive into. This is your space to meet friends, express yourself, and make something amazing together.  Hot drinks and toast provided. 

Experiment with making handmade papers from scrap paper and natural fibres in this Creative Connections workshop.

Baby Disco is a high-energy, family-friendly dance party where babies, toddlers, mums, and dads can come together to move, play, and enjoy something truly unique. We take classical music and transform it with fun, upbeat dance rhythms – creating the perfect soundtrack for little ones (and grown-ups!) to bop along to.

Join this supportive workshop to mark Healing Arts Scotland week. Artist Danielle Macleod will share her research into plant remedies historically used in the Outer Hebrides, and enable participants to experiment with cyanotype printing and botanical toning.
