UHI Gala Concert

A multi-genre feast of music showcasing the talent from the University of the Highlands and Islands BA (Hons) Applied Music degree. Pipes, fiddles, singer songwriters and Jazz.

This award-winning degree includes many musicians who have become recognized in the music industry. Students have travelled from Orkney, Glasgow, Sutherland and the South of England to perform here tonight.

NEW Creative Connections Workshops

Creative Connections is a series of free creative workshops for adults over the age of 60 in the Western Isles who feel isolated as a result of their circumstances – be it geographical remoteness, disability or any other disadvantage. If this applies to you, you can book any of our Creative Connections workshops.  You can make a booking for a friend or family member if they would like to take part.

This workshop series will focus on relaxing and meditative drawing techniques. Every week we’ll make marks and draw patterns, shapes and lines, repeating and expanding as we go.

Don’t forget Session A9 are performing at An Lanntair next week! Over the last 20 years, Session A9 have earned their reputation as one of the best live bands in the country, adored by fellow artists and the wider public alike. It’s no wonder they are frequently described as a “Scottish Supergroup”.

Featuring Kevin Henderson, Adam Sutherland, Charlie Mckerron and Gordon Gunn on fiddles, David “Chimp” Robertson on percussion, Marc Clement on guitar and vocals, and Brian McAlpine on keyboards, this will certainly be a night to remember.
