Creative Connections is a series of free creative workshops for adults over the age of 60 in the Western Isles who feel isolated as a result of their circumstances – be it geographical remoteness, disability or any other disadvantage. If this applies to you, you can book any of our Creative Connections workshops. You can make a booking for a friend or family member if they would like to take part.
Textile Journals: Telling Your Story — with cloth, paper, pen, and stitch.
In this course with textiles artist Annabel Pattulo you’ll design and create a fabric journal cover using techniques like patchwork, stamping, hand-dyeing, embroidery, and appliqué. The pages (paper) inside will come to life with your reflections on nature, memories, and daily life, filling them with your writing, ideas, doodles, and quotes, as well as creative backgrounds that make each one unique. Perfect for anyone wanting to explore self-expression through art and storytelling, Annabel will guide you through fun, accessible techniques to create a beautiful piece, that reflects your own style and story.
“The true secret of happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life.” – William Morris
