This includes creative ageing projects that support older people to remain socially connected and creatively active.

Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the set-up phase of the Islands Growth Deal Creative ageing project working with older people living in island communities of the Outer Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland islands.
The project will be developed in partnership with NHS, health, and social care colleagues, recognising the role of creativity in supporting wellbeing, reducing isolation, and complementing health and social care provision in island contexts.
The setup phase will focus on ensuring the project is clearly defined, planned and informed by key stakeholders for island delivery, and ready for handover.

Scope of Services (Set-Up Phase Only)
The Project Manager will:
Services:

- Defining project scope, objectives and wellbeing benefits for older people via community arts programme activities, aligned with health and social care priorities
- Establish governance, reporting, and communication processes involving arts, NHS, and social care partners
- Establish budget and financial monitoring processes.
- Establishing project progress and risk monitoring processes.
- Project engagement and awareness raising across three islands
- Defining project evaluation support requirements
- Establishing project team roles and resources
- Development of initial project plan
Key Deliverables:

- Outline initial project plan and high-level schedule for handover to project implementation team on completion of setup phase.
- Programme of engagement activities in each island with collated report on outcomes.
- MoUs with pilot site partners (arts/community and health organisations) in each island area.
- Agreement of an evaluation plan specification with a research partner for provision of project outcomes monitoring and reporting.
- Establishment of Project delivery team and roles including agreement of job descriptions and host organisations for Health Connector roles in each pilot site.
- Project progess reports to Islands Deal Creative Wellbeing Programme Board and internal governance group.
- Completion of Islands Deal financial claims and monitoring reports during setup phase.
This role is limited to project set-up and does not include full project delivery.

Skills & Experience
Applicants should demonstrate:
Education/Experience
- A degree to masters level or equivalent experience in an arts or health related area with a significant research component.
- A successful career and employment record in senior management role with considerable experience in multi-agency partnership working including NHS, Social Care, academia and Community organisations.
- Experienced at devising, managing, budgeting and evaluating strategic projects.
- Experience in delivery of research and innovation projects with health related outcomes.
- Experience in developing service specifications for procuring external project services.
- Experience of developing and working in national and international networks with arts, health and wellbeing focus.
- Experience working in rural, remote, or island communities.
Knowledge
- A detailed knowledge and understanding of the arts/social prescribing evidence base for health and wellbeing.
- An in depth knowledge and understanding of research and evidence in relation to arts and health and wellbeing outcomes
- An in-depth knowledge and understanding of Government policy and plans in relation to creative sector, mental health and healthy ageing.

- PM is based in project island area.
- Full driving licence and access to vehicle.
