Ross is one of the great fiddle players of his generation, often described as a virtuoso. Hailing from Shetland, he is probably best known for playing his exciting brand of fiddle in the genre defining Peatbog Faeries and last appeared in an Lanntair as part of the centre’s Between Islands music project last summer.
Not surprisingly, The Ross Couper Band’s debut at Celtic Connections 2023 had a rapturous response. On the back of that performance, they were then invited to play at various festivals throughout the year, and ended 2023 by recording a debut album, “The Homeroad” which was released to critical acclaim.
In a relatively short space of time the band has become known for its distinctive energy and no holds barred approach. They delight in whipping the audience up into a frenzy and leaving them wanting more every time.
