This class introduces beginners to methods for creating patterned fabrics, including dyeing, printing, and hand-painting techniques, with the goal of producing a continuous piece of cloth.
Experimenting with lino printing, stencils and hand painting as well as dyeing fabric using methods such as ombre, shibori and tie dye techniques to produce your own personally designed fabric. The cloth can then be used to create simple designs, with the chance to learn how to sew textile items, add embellishments to make anything from a cushion to a notebook cover or bag.
You will learn how to cut and work with a patterned fabric and how to add professional touches to your finished design.
