An Lanntair’s Artist Gatherings are monthly social events for island artists of all disciplines, from music, film and theatre to visual art and design. You do not need to be established or professional to come along. Everyone is welcome and we are here to support all forms of creativity.
Each month we invite different guests to talk about their work, and in January we’re delighted to welcome visual artists David Knight and Margaret Uttley who run Cliff Studio from a converted black house in Uig. David and Margaret will share some of the challenges – and joys – of being working artists in the winter months.
“The differing seasons have a profound affect on the work we produce. The sheer power, energy and dramatic light evident throughout winter contrasts with the colour, calm and shimmering light of the summer months. We feel very lucky to have the opportunity to work all year round in such an amazingly beautiful and inspiring environment.”
