Hebridean Treasure: Lost & Found captivatingly blends song, dance and storytelling with live Scottish and South Asian music to conjure up the landscapes of the ancient Scottish Isles and the inhabitants’ deep connection with the rhythms of nature. This production, which combines Bharatanatyam dance, oral storytelling, songs in Gaelic, Tamil and Hindu, and Celtic and Carnatic music, is being performed in An Lanntair on 13th September. On Friday 12th September, Bharatanatyam dancer Kirsten Newell is available to visit a school in Lewis or Harris to deliver a workshop for upper Primary pupils. It will explore classical Indian dance and introduce the themes from the performance.
