A gripping historical novel based on the life of Coinneach Odhar, or The Brahan Seer as he is better known. This tells his story and gives new life to a well-known legend. Douglas Thompson’s short stories have appeared in a wide range of magazines and anthologies. He won the Grolsch/Herald Question of Style Award in 1989 and second prize in the Neil Gunn Writing competition in 2007. His first book, Ultrameta, (Eibonvale Press, 2009), was nominated for the Edge Hill Prize, since which he has published seven novels. He has been a director of The Scottish Writers’ Centre since autumn 2011.
