Our Special Projects Curator (Education & Exhibitions), Jon MacLeod, has been ‘using the land and seascapes of the Outer Hebrides as venue and research arenas’ through artist residency programmes (w)ORD and Island Going…
Most recently Jon travelled to Norway to take part in the (w)ORD residency exchange between Norwegian and Scottish artists – hosted by the Society of Scottish Artists and Bergen Ateilier Gruppen – BAG ArtCamp; which focused on the exploration of the many cultural and historic links between the two countries.
And this summer Jon also led the second of An Lanntair’s Island Going residencies.
Based on the isle of Berneray and working with Ocean Guides, Island Going 2019 delivered a dynamic programme of six days at sea and four on land for five artists – with participants taking in Berneray, the Sound of Harris, St Kilda, and Loch Resort.
