This year, we invite you to explore Cianalas: Memory.
The theme reflects our connection with home and our longing for the people and places that shape us. It also celebrates the stories we carry through life. Rooted in Gaelic language and island life, cianalas evokes a deep sense of longing and belonging. It connects memories of the past with the places we call home.
Since 2006, Faclan has brought together writers, storytellers, artists and audiences. Together, they celebrate the power of words and the importance of sharing stories. Now, in its twentieth edition, the festival looks back across time. It explores personal memories, local histories and events that continue to shape our understanding of the world.
