This collection of paintings reflects my memory of a place that is now etched into my heart forever.
I am so delighted to be holding my debut solo show on Harris and Lewis, where I have been made to feel so welcome.
“Where the ocean remembers the sky “is the culmination of ten years study with the Open College of the Arts and my graduation exhibition.
In the summer of 2024, while searching for inspiration I embarked on a self‑directed residency to the Isles of Harris and Lewis, a place I had never visited before.
From the moment I stepped ashore I knew I had found the perfect place, I felt a real sense of coming home, an emotion that is hard to describe in words, but one I poured into every brushstroke and painting.
Harris and Lewis, from the vivid turquoise seas to the bright white sands, and the ever-present wind, has an atmosphere and landscape beyond words that almost feels like stepping back in time.
An island, who’s people remain in tune with nature and the elements.
Where the Ocean Remembers the Sky…. The space where sea, cloud and heart all meet and the echo of Gaelic song is carried by the wind.
