An innovative sonic installation on the relationships between place, people, piping, and plants based on the multiple versions of the story Uamh an Òr (The Cave of Gold).
The main theme features a piper who goes into a cave and meets with an untimely end. But there are unique variations on the story, lyrics and melody linked to corresponding caves found across the Gàidhealtachd, which represent portals into the ‘otherworld’ and the place from which creativity is born into Gaelic culture; in particular pìobaireachd (piping).
The title is a play on Fuaim and Uamh, to mean ‘seam of gold’).
