Join us for a Sauna and dip as well as creating an ‘Ocean Passport’ with Internationally renowned artist/photographers from either side of ‘the pond’ Riitta Ikonen ‘Seachanges Rockaway’ New York and Mhairi Law Island Darkroom, Isle of Lewis, who will be offering seaweed themed portraits, to inspire environmental and marine awareness to celebrate World Ocean Day
Riitta will be in Lewis as part of a joint residency with Island Darkroom and An Lanntair. During her stay on the island, she will be exhibiting images from her joint project with Karoline Hjorth, ‘Eyes as Big as Plates’ at Island Darkroom on the 2nd May, 5-7pm, giving a talk at An Lanntair on the 8th May 7-8pm and featuring in the World Ocean Day Exhibition opening at An Lanntair on 16th May
The event is sponsored by The Finnish Institute in the UK and Ireland and Atlantic 58 as well as being supported by Saltbox Sauna who will also be offering a complementary salt scrub and after sauna balm for everyone from their exclusive locally made natural skincare products.
