🎸 ROCK CHICKS DEBUT! 🤘
Join us for the very first Rock Chicks rehearsal!
Thanks to everyone who expressed an interest in joining a Rock band for girls aged 13 – 18. Even if you haven’t been in touch, you can come along to this first rehearsal. We’ll spend some time getting to know your new bandmates, chatting about the music you love, what you already play and what you’d like to try – then we’ll get the instruments out and start making some music together!
We’ll try out some songs, see how everyone fits together and start deciding what you’d like to work towards as a band.
🎶 Bring your instrument along, and if there are any songs you’d love to try, bring any lyrics, chords or sheet music you have too!
Rock Chicks is about empowering girls to take to the stage, build confidence as musicians and showcase the amazing young talent we have here in the Islands.
This is your band, so you’ll have a say in the songs you play, the sound you develop and where Rock Chicks goes next. 🎤🥁🎸
This activity is part of SOUNDWAVES – TONNAN-FUAIME, An Lanntair’s music development project funded by Youth Music Initiative Access to Music Making fund which creates access to high-quality music making opportunities for children and young people aged 0 to 25 years. The Youth Music Initiative is a music education programme with a vision to put music at the heart of young people’s lives and learning funded by the Scottish Government through Creative Scotland.
