Fìdeag agus Seinn – Whistle & Sing is a fun music class for children aged 7–10, to learn tunes and songs through singing and tin whistle playing. By singing melodies first and then learning to play them on the whistle, children develop a strong musical ear, confidence, rhythm, and listening skills in a natural and enjoyable way. Children with or without Gaelic are welcome, and classes will include tunes and songs in both English and Gaelic, creating a warm and inclusive environment where everyone can learn, participate, and enjoy making music together.

The session will be led by Eilidh Young, an arts worker, music teacher and pipe-band drummer.  To find out more, email Eilidh at: eyoung1x@gnes.net

We can make tickets available free of charge for children who would benefit from this class, but for whom cost would be a barrier. Contact moira@anlanntair.com for details.

This activity is part of SOUNDWAVES – TONNAN-FUAIME, An Lanntair’s music development project funded by Youth Music Initiative Access to Music Making fund which creates access to high-quality music making opportunities for children and young people aged 0 to 25 years. The Youth Music Initiative is a music education programme with a vision to put music at the heart of young people’s lives and learning funded by the Scottish Government through Creative Scotland.
