The Drama Clubs & Youth Theatre have been working extremely hard on their end-of-year performances and are so excited to perform. The P1-P3 Drama Club are presenting an adaptation of “The Gruffalo” by Julia Donaldon. The P4-P7 Drama Club have devised a brand-new play… get ready for “Tesco: The Musical”. Our Youth Theatre are performing abridged versions of well-loved Shakespeare plays; Romeo & Juliet (S1-S3) and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (S4-S6). All groups are invited and encouraged to stay and watch each other’s performances; you do not need a ticket for the young people who are performing, just any family and friends coming to support!
Participant Call Times
ALL YOUTH THEATRE ACTORS: Please can all Youth Theatre participants arrive at 10:15am and come to the auditorium
P4-P7: Please arrive at the auditorium for 11:00am
P1-P3: Please arrive at the auditorium for 11:30am
Costume Requirements
P1-P3 Drama Club: Please wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in. We’ll provide any costume pieces needed for characters unless told otherwise!
P4-P7 Drama Club: Please wear a base layer of plain/black clothes that are easy to move in. We will provide any costume pieces needed for characters unless told otherwise!
S1-S3 Youth Theatre: Please can characters on the “Montague/Romeo” side wear RED and all the characters on “Capulet/Juliet” side wear BLUE. The young people will know what side their character is on! If they are playing more than one character, please can they wear a base layer of black clothing. All clothing should be comfortable and easy to move in. Young people should know if they are responsible for any props.
S4-S6 Youth Theatre: All should wear a plain black base layer. Where possible please raid cupboards at home and find clothing in following character colour schemes (actors will know what characters they are playing): Purple (nobles); Reds/Pinks (Sweethearts); Beiges/Blues (mechanicals); Gold/Silver/Green (Fairies). We will have a few costume pieces as well in case anyone struggles to source anything!
