Three perspectives on witchcraft, the supernatural and an Dà Shealladh (Second Sight) in the Islands and Highlands.

Folklorist, singer and writer Margaret Bennett has a post-grad Master’s in Folklore and a PhD in Ethnology. Widely regarded as “Scotland’s foremost folklorist” she is known to “wear her scholarship lightly,” lecturing, singing and storytelling on both sides of the Atlantic.

Catriona Murray is a lecturer at Lews Castle College (UHI) on, among other things Scottish Gaelic, social history of the Gaidhealtachd, “Islandness”, social and cultural anthropology, folklore, oral traditions, and oral history.

John ‘Rusty’ Macdonald is a local historian and expert on the cultural history of rural Lewis.
