YDance is the national youth dance organisation for children and young people in Scotland and the leading provider of high quality dance opportunities in a range of contexts and settings, working with a range of partners. YDance exists to transform the lives of Scotland’s children and young people, supporting them to grow and learn through dance.  Each year we work with around 2000 children and young people across four main areas:  Engage, Perform, Learn and Connect.  Established in 1989, YDance programmes achieve positive outcomes for children and young people across Scotland, improving mental and physical health, wellbeing and confidence. Through projects young people develop skills and confidence in dance and transferable meta skills. We improve access to high quality dance for everyone, helping young people learn and grow through dance. YDance is core funded by Creative Scotland with projects funded by and in partnership with Scottish Government, councils, charities and schools.

This project is part of An Lanntair’s Youth Arts Project supported by Young Start. Young Start aims to create opportunities for Scotland’s children and young people aged 8 to 24 to help them realise their full potential. Young Start is a grants programme run by The National Lottery Community Fund, which distributes money from dormant bank accounts.Â
