Muriel Mharie Macleod grew up in the Hebrides and began her career in film on The Snowman and The Charlie Brown Show before working on advertising campaigns (Shreddies, Toshiba, Phileas Fogg; Videos for Queen, Dire Straits, Enya, The South Bank Show etc).

As a producer her credits include Poddington Peas (BBC): Prince Cinders (Channel 4: TV Quick Award 1994, Grand Prix, L'Enfant Lune, Geneva 1998.) The Lampies (BBC): and further advertising, Saab, Persil, Bell Atlantic. She worked with director Derek Hayes, (Jeeves & Wooster Titles; BAFTA 1992), Jonathan Hodgson, (The Man with the Beautiful Eyes; 1999) Richard Williams, (Who Framed Roger Rabbit, 1988 Academy Award, Best Visual Effects & Special Achievement.) and Uli Meyer, (Space Jam, Anastasia).

She had a weekly illustration published in the Scottish edition of The Times Educational Supplement for twenty years. Her novel, WHAT THE RIVER WASHED AWAY, was published by One World in 2013. She was Director of the Fulbright Scholars association in the UK and is represented by the Blake Friedmann Literary, Film and TV Agency in London.
