The Music of the Solar System is a voyage into the exciting new field of interplanetary musicology, presented as part of the Hebridean Dark Skies Festival.
Curated by Dr. Ray Sound, a pioneer in this emerging discipline, this audio-visual exhibition will be presented in the cafe-bar at An Lanntair throughout the festival. Broaden your Earth-centric musical horizons and discover cosmic carnival music from Saturn’s moons, praise songs from the Venusian sky city Nouveau Bamako and moon rock from the company towns of the South Pole-Aitken basin.
Find out more about interplanetary musicology at Dr Ray Sound’s YouTube channel.
The Hebridean Dark Skies Festival runs from 9-21 March 2023 with arts and astronomy events for all the family at An Lanntair and across Lewis and Harris. Browse the full festival programme here.
