The Gathering Storm exhibition
at an Lanntair from the 16th of October 2007, an exhibition of images, paintings and photographs inspired by the sea and coastline of the Outer Hebrides.
There will be paintings and sketches from artists Rebecca Cotton and Jessamy Howorth with photographs from James Smith and local images captured by members of the Stornoway canoe club. There will also be a section dedicated to Hamish Gow who, along with his wife Ann Gow, first kayaked to St Kilda in 1965.
The exhibition also coincides with the 2nd UK Storm Gathering which is taking place at an Lanntair from the 18th till 20th of October which is for local and national sea kayakers who will be on sea trips during the day as well as attending evening events which are also open to the general public.
The evening events include talks and presentations from renowned sea kayakers as well as a sea kayak film festival. The final evening session culminates in a cèilidhwith local singer Anna Murray and Face the West.
