Exhibition opening: Fri 28 Oct
Exhibition Run: 28 Oct – 9 Dec
An exhibition exploring themes of representation of Hebridean women in songs, stories and local history. Many female characters and protagonists in island stories are downplayed or rarely seen. When a woman is featured it is often as a device for a cautionary tale. This exhibition reimagines the woman’s role in these stories, shining a light on the complexity of female experience. ‘Na Boireannaich’ represents the collective lived experience of island women through the centuries.
If you can’t make it to the exhibition a virtual experience of the show is available here.
