Join artist and art teacher Kirsten Mcilroy for an opportunity to explore in a relaxed environment some of the things that have made artists tick, both in the past and present. From the What and the Who, to How the world they lived in, influenced their creative minds.
Whether you are thinking about Art College or just want to find out a little bit more; come along for an informal session where we will explore the world through the eyes of artists such as Turner and Khalo, Banksy and Emin.
Be prepared to put yourself in their shoes for a little while and maybe wield a brush and scratch with a pen!
This two hour session will be set in the art room where we will have a whistle stop tour on the time-line express of Art from Then to Now. We will take a glimpse at why humans make art and what art ‘is’ with the potential for more sessions where you would be able to specify periods, movements and individuals into whose worlds you’d like to take an extended deep dive.
Suitable for adults and young people age 14+
