Join fiddle player Amy Geddes for a workshop where we’ll learn tunes to play for stepdance and explore the technique of playing for this percussive dance. As well as separate sessions for musicians and dancers, we will spend time learning together, creating a deeper understanding of how the dance is part of the music. A joyful exploration of how to “talk” to each other with our instruments and feet. Suitable for intermediate upwards musicians who can play dance tunes at a steady tempo; all instruments that can play in standard keys.
