Calling all young artists and film makers! Join us on the beautiful uninhabited island of Pabaigh for a collaborative experimental film shoot, led by a team of professional artists and tutors. We need people with skills in visual arts, music, performance, writing and video to form a collective that will bring the secret stories of the island to life. Whatever your interest in the arts, we have a role for you.
In the lead up to the residency we will learn all about film production: from costume design and set dressing to camera operating and sound recording. We’ll create a storyboard, plan for the shoot and make any props we need to sail over with. After the residency we have sessions to edit and soundtrack the film before it’s shown at An Lanntair during HebCelt week.
The programme is totally free to attend and food will be provided on the residency, as well as return transport to Stornoway. We’ll camp on the south end of Pabaigh, with access to facilities and communal space in a converted blackhouse.
The residency is delivered in partnership with Fair Access at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland – tutors will be on hand over the weekend to lead masterclasses, answer your questions about a career in the arts and offer advice on applying for Higher Education.
