Youth Theatre develops skills and techniques in young performers and theatre-makers. We build on confidence, creativity, and communication while exploring various aspects of performance-making from improvisation and script writing, to physical theatre and devising. Youth Theatre are currently working on a performance so we are unable to accept new participants until after the summer holidays.
There are now two Youth Theatre sessions. At 1pm for young people in S1-S3; and 2pm for S4+. Booking is essential but you don’t have to book for a whole term – come when you can.
We can make tickets available free of charge for young people who would benefit from Youth Theatre, but for whom cost is a barrier. Contact moira@anlanntair.com or joe@anlanntair.com for details.
NFYT Youth Theatre opportunity
The National Festival of Youth Theatre (NFYT) is taking place at Eden Court in Inverness from Friday 3rd-Monday 6th July. The weekend involves drama workshops and social activities as well as watching other youth theatre performances.
Young people who regularly attend An Lanntair’s Youth Theatre are invited to take part, accompanied by An Lanntair staff. They would devise a show over the weekend and perform it on the final day. Young people will stay at a private campsite right next to Eden Court Theatre. Travel will be by ferry and bus on Fri 3rd and Mon 6th July.
Get in touch with Catriona (catriona@anlanntair.com) for more information and the official NFYT Event Information pack for parents and carers.
The cost per young person would be £200 which includes the subsidised event ticket and travel costs. The costs are subsidised due to a Youth Arts grant from Young Start and travel bursary from NFYT.
