An Lanntair are grateful to have received a grant of £3990 from the Youth Local Action Group (YLAG).  In the period when we celebrate An Lanntair’s 40th anniversary, the award will enable us to deliver a series of Creative Learning initiatives which inspire children and young people to engage with the arts and to be creative.  The following projects will be supported by the grant funding:

As part of our 40th anniversary celebrations, young artists who have experienced An Lanntair’s arts education programme will teach something they first learned, or were inspired to learn about, through An Lanntair.  We are now accepting workshop proposals from young artists.

A Secret Garden pre-school multi artform event will provide storytelling, visual arts, music and movement activities for children in Lewis and Harris Nurseries and Sgoil Araich. This event will run from Tues 25th – Thurs 27th February.

Following on from the success of our recent film project for FilmG in partnership with CNAG, we plan to run an equivalent intensive film-making project in English.  An experienced film maker and actor / facilitator will deliver this project with young people aged 12 – 16.

‘Cleas’ Club Dràma has grown in popularity after a pilot phase delivered in partnership with CnaG.  A new series of Cleas Gaelic Drama sessions will be delivered by Laura Cameron Lewis beginning in February.

Lastly, we will deliver a collaborative group arts project with youth clubs. The young people will be supported to make site specific group artworks informed by their surroundings.

Families can find out about all of these workshops and projects at https://lanntair.com/education/

We are grateful to the YLAG 2024-25 Fund, which forms part of the Outer Hebrides Community Led Local Development (OH CLLD) programme, for this valuable support.
