The McTaggart Sisters: Musicians’ talk for schools

Based on the Isle of Lewis, Elsa and Irenie McTaggart two of 11 siblings and great grand-daughters to the highly acclaimed Scottish Artist William McTaggart have combined their song-writing skills to compose and arrange songs based on the titles of his paintings of Scottish landscape and life as it was in a by gone time.

The artists will perform their new material in An Lanntair on Friday 26th November in a concert entitled Our Great Grandfather’s paintings

Using guitars, vocals and the loop pedal they weave a fascinating web of sound and blood harmonies.

In this pre-recorded talk aimed at Secondary school music pupils, they give a short background of the Artist William, present and explain the process behind the song-writing and arrangements, and throw in a few tunes.
