Tha An Lanntair air sreath de dh’fhilmichean goirid ùra fhoillseachadh a tha a’ taisbeanadh mar a tha Gàidhlig air a cleachdadh anns na roinnean cruthachail an Leòdhas. Tha na filmichean, a fhuair taic airgid bho Bhòrd na Gàidhlig, a’ coimhead ri dhaoine òga a tha a’ roghnachadh an cànan is an cultar a chur an teis-meadhan na h-obrach aca. Tha na filmichean a’ gabhail a-steach daoine a tha an lùib nam meadhanan agus nan ealan beò is lèirsinneach. Cluinnear agallamahan leis an luchd-ealain fhèin is iad a’ bruidhinn air an cuid obrach agus a’ beachdachadh air mar a bu chòir taic a chumail ris a’ chànan is a’ chultar anns an àm ri teachd.

Thuirt Ceannard nan Ealan Beò aig An Lanntair, Alex NicDhòmhnaill: “’S ann a’ coimhead ri mar a tha a’ Ghàidhlig a’ toirt spionnadh dhuinn a tha na filmichean sa, agus saoilidh mi gu bheil sin follaiseach unnta. Bha cothrom againn obair a thoirt do dhithis fhilmeadairean òga bhon eilean a chruthaich na pìosan sa, is tha sinn garbh taingeil dhaibhsan is dhan h-uile duine a ghabh pàirt.”

Tha na filmichean rim faicinn air làrach Youtube An Lanntair:

An Lanntair have recently released a series of short films highlighting the use of Gaelic in the creative industries sector in Lewis. The films, which were produced with funding from BNG, feature our younger generation who are choosing employment in areas which place both the language and culture at the heart of their work. They span a range of art forms including media, performing and visual arts, and take the form of interviews on both their current work and views on how to support the language and culture going forward.

Alex Macdonald, An Lanntairs Head of Performing Arts, said: “The theme of these films was how Gaelic inspires, which I believe the resulting pieces clearly illustrate. We were also able to employ two young film makers locally to create the pieces, and our thanks goes to them and all those who participated.”

The films are available to watch now on An Lanntair’s Youtube channel
