Agnes, James and Nancy are being put on trial for the crime of having dementia and not doing what they’re told. Can they beat the Rigid System and reclaim their lives and dignity?

The Ballad of the Dementia Activists – aka Dementia the Musical – is a hard-hitting and hilarious new musical written by Lewis-based dementia activist Ron Coleman. It tells the history of dementia activism in Scotland through a dramatic confrontation between activists and the system – with the voices of real people with dementia shaping its story.

You are invited to a work in progress sharing of the show, following two weeks of development with director Laura Cameron-Lewis, songwriter Andrew Eaton-Lewis, and a cast of professional actors.

The show also features new songs by jazz musician Sophie Bancroft, who will perform a free concert with Tom Lyne after the sharing.

Supported by Life Changes Trust,  Luminate, John Case and An Lanntair’s artist support programme.
