“Music gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind,
flight to the imagination, and life to everything.” [Plato]
Join the An Lanntair creative arts team in Castle Grounds as we go on a creative arts procession – and discover the truth of Plato’s words. Beginning in front of the Castle, you will be taken on a journey of joyful activity incorporating song, dance and visual art, based on the storybook Patrick by Quentin Blake. When Patrick plays his music, the most extraordinary things happen: fish begin to fly, birds change colour, cows dance and trees grow cakes and buttered toast. He spreads happiness everywhere.
Culminating with a grand celebration at the newly-renovated horse and cart sculpture by the Porter’s Lodge in Bayhead Street, the session will last around 2 hours and is suitable for primary-aged children. Children don’t have to be accompanied, but parents/carers and younger siblings are welcome.
Tickets are free, but booking is essential. Book a free ticket for each adult and child attending. The activity is weather dependant, and may be postponed or cancelled at short notice.
Thanks to Stornoway Trust for supporting this activity in the Castle Grounds.
