New Music Sessions: Trouble Is…

Wed 1 Dec

Our December New Music Session will see the “dynamic” and “hard working” Stornoway band Trouble Is… take to our stage.

The band formed by Phil Young in 2013 has undergone major changes in the past couple of years with the introduction of Cigar Box Guitars and more recently the Blues Harp.

Phil has written an eclectic mix of 26 tracks in the past two years! A dozen can be found on the band’s first album “Killing Time” which was album of the week on two radio stations. Tracks from the album also appeared in the Scottish New Music Global Charts in 2020. Following the band’s appearance at the Stramash Festival, Isles FM named them the “Kings of the Cigar Box”!

Trouble Is… has now recorded 14 tracks for their new album A Good Day for the Blues, to be released later this year. Some tracks (without the Blues Harp) have already been played as far afield as the USA, South Africa, Malta, Europe and Australia and have been very well received.

Come along and listen to the lads, Phil, David, Mike and Ken and the magic of the CBGs & Blues Harp at our FREE to attend New Music Sessions as An Lanntair continues to spotlight the islands’ talents on the first Wednesday of each month, providing a space where local artists can play original material without feeling the pressure to play all the usual cover versions.

If you are an established, or brand new, performer or band and would like to get involved, please email Mike Adkins at mike@anlanntair.com
