Join American health psychologist Kari Leibowitz for some fascinating insights into ‘winter mindset’, as part of this year’s Hebridean Dark Skies Festival.
Kari’s research, writing, and speaking about winter has helped people all over the world cultivate the mindset that winter is a season to be enjoyed, not endured. What allows some people to view winter as wonderful, when so many people around the world see the season as something to dread? And what can their mindset teach us about finding joy and comfort even in dark times?
Kari’s first book, How To Winter: Harnessing Mindset To Embrace All Seasons of Life, will be published by Pan MacMillan in 2024. Blending cultural insights with evidence-based strategies, the book will help anyone learn to embrace winter and see how their mindsets matter in any challenging season of life.
Kari is visiting the Isle of Lewis in February for an An Lanntair residency. She previously recorded a podcast for the 2021 Hebridean Dark Skies Festival but this is her first trip to the island.
