Join us online to celebrate the opening night of our third Hebridean Dark Skies Festival, with a sneak peek at our two festival exhibitions plus a guide to February’s night sky with Highland Astronomy.
We might not be able to welcome you all to An Lanntair for a drink and an opening night gallery tour this year, but we can take you for a walk around our two festival exhibitions – Lumen and the Dark Skies Photography Competition – from the comfort of your own home. We’ll also talk through this year’s Dark Skies programme and try to answer any questions you may have.
All ticket-holders will be sent a weblink before the event.
The Hebridean Dark Skies Festival will return for its third year from Friday 5 February to Thursday 18 February. This year’s programme will consist of two exhibitions at An Lanntair – by astronomy-inspired artist collective Lumen and the winners of our Dark Skies Photography Competition – and a series of online events including talks by award-winning TV presenter Dallas Campbell and renowned climate scientist Tamsin Edwards.
The festival is part-financed by the Scottish Government and the European Community Outer Hebrides Leader 2014-2020 programme, as well as new funding from Caledonian MacBrayne. We would also like to thank our event partners, Stornoway Astronomical Society, Calanais Visitor Centre, Gallan Head Community Trust, and Lews Castle College UHI.
