Join LOW PROFILE for a deep dive into how to build your own art scene, as part of the #EvenHereEvenNow programme.

We’ll cover things like mapping your scene and finding allies, identifying new opportunities for making / showing artwork in non-traditional spaces, and top tips for teaming up with other creative practitioners to make things happen.

LOW PROFILE will draw on their 20+ years of experience of successful artist-led activity, and skills in curation, community development and creative problem-solving. You can find out more about LOW PROFILE’s practice at we-are-low-profile.com

The hybrid event is being run as part of Uist’s #EvenHereEvenNow programme but a limited number of places are also available to artists in Lewis and Harris, as well as Shetland. An event link will be shared with participants in advance alongside a digital map of Uist’s Art Scene, which will be discussed during the workshop.

#EvenHereEvenNow is a new programme jointly run by Shetland Arts, An Lanntair, Pier Arts Centre and Taigh Chearsabhagh, advocating for island-based artists through local events, online events, a manifesto, and a national campaign.

This event is supported by Engage Scotland Connecting Moments fund. Connecting Moments is supported by the National Lottery through Creative Scotland.
