Widely regarded as “Scotland’s foremost folklorist” Margaret Bennett is known to “wear her scholarship lightly,” lecturing, singing and storytelling on both sides of the Atlantic.

Catriona Murray is a lecturer at Lews Castle College (UHI) on, among other things Scottish Gaelic, social history of the Gaidhealtachd, “Islandness”, social and cultural anthropology, folklore, oral traditions, and oral history.

John ‘Rusty’ Macdonald is a local historian and expert on the cultural history of rural Lewis.
