What makes a place ‘special’?
What combination of visual appearance, natural environment, and human history makes a location so uniquely distinctive that it captures our emotions?

In this short film Frank Rennie explores a Lewis village and compares it with similar locations in Orkney and Shetland in an intimate attempt to answer these questions.

This event is the first of two special commissioned pieces created by An Lanntair for Scotland’s Year of Stories, with Q and A to follow the film screening.
