Based within The Hebridean Design Company in Studio 2 at Talla na Mara, Isle of Harris Handmade Glass is designed and created by Doug Blake. Inspired by the colours and landscape here in Harris. Free-standing artworks, dishes, tealight holders and jewellery all available in various styles. Bespoke commissions also taken. A selection of our glass range is also available at all Handmade Harris craft fairs based in Tarbert Community Centre. Open 6 days a week throughout the year.

The Old Leather Works

The Old Leather Works is a small leather workshop, situated in Scarista, on the west coast of the Isle of Harris, producing an exclusive and unique selection of handmade leather goods. Using our own designs, our creations are made in small quantities and include bridle leather belts, leather and leather/tweed bags, and various other small leather goods. We also undertake commissions, to cater for individuals’ particular requirements, and repairs for those treasured leather goods that you want to bring back to life.

Using high quality genuine leather, everything is made using traditional tools and techniques. The majority of our pure leather goods are saddle stitched by hand, for the aesthetics and durability that only hand stitching can achieve.

Visitors are welcome throughout the year to stop by for a chat or to see items being made, and to buy from the workshop. Just look out for the open sign, message via Facebook, or email info@theoldleatherworks.co.uk to arrange a visit.
