Mhairi Killin and Hugh Watt in collaboration with musician Dr. John Purser of Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, will present specially commissioned works of sound, film and sculpture that explore the role and symbolism of the bell in the landscapes of Lewis and Iona. It is set against the wider context of the protestant reformation in Europe and its impact on belief structures in the Hebrides. The exhibition will include bells cast from decommissioned weapons and video installation, along with supporting studies in gallery and site-specific environments.
