An Lanntair is thrilled to announce the launch of a new Online Shop through its website lanntair.com today. This exciting new digital offer promotes a curated range of products by artists and makers, reflecting the culture of the islands, as well offering a series of An Lanntair-original products.
The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of finding new and digital ways of reaching out to people, as visitors were not able to travel to the island and the local community could not access the arts centre.
With support from Highlands and Islands Enterprise, An Lanntair’s team was able to access crucial funding from a Digital Enablement Grant to bring on board specialist help. Expert Web Designer, Bauholz, and business planners, Vis-à-Vis, worked alongside An Lanntair’s leadership team to plan, create and build the new site.
Kathleen Stewart, HIE’s head of enterprise support for the Outer Hebrides team, said: “An Lanntair plays a huge part in our creative industries sector, which is a strong sector for the Outer Hebrides and one with considerable growth potential. The social enterprise’s move to create a new online shop through its website will help them to expand as many more customers are moving to online engagement.
“The much-needed digital transformation at An Lanntair will create new sales opportunities on a site that not only promotes the arts venue, but also the work of local artists where they will be able to sell their products across their world. We are very pleased to support this venture through our Digital Enablement Grant and we look forward to seeing An Lanntair achieve its ambitions.”
An Lanntair’s new Online Shop offers a curated a selection of products that reflect the unique Gaelic culture of the Outer Hebrides; including original An Lanntair products such as CDs, postcards, exhibition catalogues and more.
An Lanntair is also committed to working with local artists to design and produce a new range of exclusive An Lanntair merchandise – watch this space for more to come!
Debra Rodden, Retail Manager at An Lanntair, said: “An Lanntair’s vision is to ‘carry a torch for creativity and the arts in the Outer Hebrides’. Our new online venture seeks to support this through providing a sales platform for local artists and makers. We are delighted with the shop site and we can’t wait to share it with our customers!”
