Dogstar Theatre Company in association with An Lanntair
Kevin MacNeil’s acclaimed 2005 novel is both a romantic evocation of Lewis and a scabrous critique of our island and its culture. 13 years on and with, in his words, “a more mature perspective”, MacNeil is adapting the novel for the stage with the north of Scotland’s leading theatre company, Dogstar.
This electrifying new production will premiere at An Lanntair in August, prior to an extensive Scottish tour. Before that, in March, MacNeil, director Matthew Zajac, composer Pippa Murphy and a cast of three will be carrying out a development workshop at An Lanntair with an early draft of the play, culminating in a public reading and discussion on Thursday March 21.
