A Modern Shepherdess
Director – Delphine Detrie
2019/France/French with English subtitles
HIFF Classification – PG

A few years ago, Stéphanie left her Parisian life for the vast salt meadows of the Cherbourg Peninsula. The former graphic designer discovered a deep connection with this land by the sea where she now raises sheep. Here, she has reinvented herself, and in pursuing her new calling the single mother became the manager of a farm. She must confront hostile neighbours, remain profitable and much more, making use of her courage, creativity, and strength of character to do so. A Modern Sheperdess invites us to question our own desire to lead a life in keeping with who we really are.

Supporting Short:  Laymun
Director – Catherine Prowse
2017/Drama/United Kingdom/Dialogue Free

Laymun is a stop motion, paper cut animation based in a war torn Middle Eastern city, where a woman fights violence and desolation with gardening.
