The Summer Youth Dance Intensive is a one week dance and performance project open to young people aged 9 – 14 years. The sessions will be led by dancer and teacher Julia McGhee. Participants will take part in daily contemporary and creative dance sessions (Monday to Friday 10am to 1pm) leading to a performance on Sat 7th July for family and friends. The dancers will devise and choreograph a new dance piece in response to the exhibition Oir na Sùil : Edge of Sight by Margaret Uttley and David Knight.
Dancers should wear comfortable clothing that they can move easily in and either bare feet or dance shoes. There will be a break each day so they should bring a snack and a bottle of water.
The sessions will be held in Hebrides Dance and Wellbeing Studio in Stornoway
