Granaidh Afraga : Mòrag Anna NicNèill

Literature Event for P4 – 7 (Gaelic)

Morag Ann MacNeil will read an extract from her new novel, ‘Granaidh Afraga’ before answering questions from the audience. A creative writing activity with a Hallowe’en theme will follow, where pupils will be encouraged to create their own scary characters. This session is suitable for upper primary pupils.

Morag Ann MacNeil hails from the village of Horgabost in Harris, but now lives in Barra. She was a Gaelic secondary school teacher for more than 25 years but now writes full time. She won a Gaelic New Writers Award from the Gaelic Books Council and the Scottish Book Trust in 2015, and ‘Granaidh Afraga’ was shortlisted for the Donald Meek Award in 2016.
