Collagraph Printmaking with Gill Thompson

Explore the endless possibilities of collagraph printmaking using textured papers, tapes, found materials and glue to build printing plates.  Learn how to ink and wipe the sealed plate to make successful prints. Experiment with texture and layers, shape and colour.  This type of printmaking allows you to produce dynamic and unique prints using an etching press.  Materials will be provided but a protective overall or apron is advisable.  Get inky and enjoy being creative!

Gill Thompson is an artist and printmaker. Her work includes a variety of printmaking – linoprints, collagraph prints and etchings inspired by landscape and nature, reflecting the shapes, textures, light and shade of the island environment.  Gill exhibits her work successfully both here and on the mainland and enjoys sharing her printmaking skills and inspiring others to experiment. She studied art in the United States and at Hereford College of Art and The Print Shed, Herefordshire.
