An Lanntair and the Glasgow School of Art have invited artists to respond to a public commission to make a new public artwork / creative intervention on the route between Stornoway and Uig on the Isle of Lewis, which responds to the cultural life of the island and the geographic context. The project was conceived as a result of collaborative work carried out between the St Kilda Centre organisation, Ionad Hiort, and the GSA, exploring the potential for artistic interventions along the route between Stornoway and the proposed site for the St Kilda Centre in Uig. Information about the artists commissioned and the work produced will be announced summer 2016.
The third artist commission has now been announced. Deadline for proposals has now been extended to October 30th 2016. You can download all the information by clicking here.
